Flying Cars and a Wasp Named Pickles
Why the moments that mean something aren’t always the ones we try to make unforgettable.

Hi friends,
Florida keeps gifting us with some interesting moments. Occasionally they come flying down the road on two wheels.
In front of us… a motorcyclist balancing on the back wheel for what must have been 5 minutes, right in the middle of traffic. Without missing a beat, our daughter laughed, “You know…if this were back in the northeast, you’d be calling the police. Now you’re following him and cheering him on.”
Rules are different here. So is the fun. 🌴☀️
Have a great, safe 4th of July!
Devin

TRUTH IN
FAITH OUT
![]() | John Adams said that America’s independence would be celebrated “with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations”; from one end of the continent to the other, forevermore. |
TRUTH IN:
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free…” (Galatians 5:1)
Fireworks and parades are powerful symbols, but the truest freedom isn’t found in a declaration or a nation. It’s found in Christ, who frees us not just from tyranny, but from sin, fear, and the need to prove ourselves.
FAITH OUT:
As we celebrate our country’s freedom tomorrow, let’s live out the freedom we have in Christ. We are no longer bound by the things that once controlled us: sin, shame, fear, striving, and the pressure to earn love or prove our worth.
That’s freedom worth celebrating: in our nation, and even more so in our Savior. Wishing you a joyful, safe, and meaningful 4th of July!
