Is Infant Mortality, Digital Grief, Vanishing Property the New Normal?
From AI-generated loved ones to disappearing movies and a heartbreaking crisis in Mississippi, we’re looking deeper at these stories and what they reveal about life, loss, and where we place our hope.

Hi friends,
The school year has officially begun in our house and like many of you, we’re adjusting! Early mornings, one missed bus, one missed sports practice, packed lunches, forgotten passwords and a missing Apple Pencil…we are getting back into the swing of things. But we were grateful to have some nice family time, a beachside brunch to kick off the new season.

And…we also celebrated two birthdays this week! Only teenagers in the house now. Which means less and less pictures that mom is allowed to post.
Today, we’re looking at a few stories shaping our world: some that raise deep questions, others that press on our values. I hope they give you something to reflect on. Not just what’s happening, but how we respond as people of faith.
Today’s episode:
🍼 Mississippi’s infant mortality rate is the worst in the nation.
🧠 People are using AI to bring back their loved ones from the dead. Helpful or just creepy?
💻 Digital ownership isn’t what we think it is. In fact, we’re on a path to own nothing.
Come hang out and listen.
Have a blessed week,
Devin
Listen to this week’s Anchor Points
Short, devotional reflections that anchor our day in truth.
When Interruptions Ruin Our God Time – An unexpected knock. Plans derailed. But what if interruptions aren’t distractions… but invitations from God?
The $900 Car Wash – One moment of panic. One expensive mistake. A reminder of how anxiety shows up and what it reveals about trust and control.
The Greatest Inheritance – We chase what fades. But the legacy that matters most? A life marked by faith, passed on with purpose.
Can I Call You a Liar? – It started with one question in church and exposed something most of us would rather hide.
TRUTH IN
FAITH OUT
![]() | Truth In: Interruptions often reveal what’s really going on in our hearts. But they’re also invitations to slow down, surrender, and respond with grace. “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” - Ephesians 4:2 |
Faith Out: When the day doesn’t go as planned, pause. Interruptions test more than our schedule, they test your witness. Our response may be the only glimpse of Christ someone sees today. Will it look like irritation… or Jesus?
