One Small Switch That Changed Everything

Seeing today’s world through God’s eyes and living out our faith with clarity, courage, and hope.

LIFE IN THE ORDINARY

Hi my friends…

Hope this finds you well and settling into a good rhythm this week.

Over at our house, our daughter and son have picked up a new hobby. Fishing! It’s been the latest adventure around here. We made a quick trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods and grabbed a couple of rods and some gear. I don’t have a clue what I’m doing as I try to help them, but I’m learning.

Our sales guy was great. He’s been fishing since before he could walk. But in all his excitement, he forgot to mention one tiny but very important thing: the anti-reverse switch.

Fast forward. The next day we’re on the dock, scratching our heads, wondering why my son’s line kept turning into a tangled mess every time he cast.

Turns out, that one little switch makes all the difference.

Honestly, isn’t that just life sometimes? One small adjustment, and things start to make a whole lot more sense.

Wishing you a great rest of the week full of simple joys. Even the tangled ones.

Think return fraud is just a scammer’s game? Think again.

In this episode of the InSight Out podcast, we uncover how everyday compromises, like keeping that “accidental” Amazon extra, are shaping our culture, our character, and even our faith.

You’ll walk away challenged, convicted, and equipped to live with greater integrity. Especially when no one’s watching.

Think Twice: I’ll Do It Myself

Sometimes independence is a strength. Other times it’s driven by pride, stubbornness, or we just don’t know who to ask for help.

This week’s questions:

👉 When is it good to push through on your own?

👉 And when is it wiser to reach for help?

👉 Where have you had to shift from doing it all yourself — or wished you had?

Let’s talk about it. We’d love to hear what came up for you. Meet us in the InSight Out | Community on Facebook.

Did You Know?

In Germany, around 1440, goldsmith Johannes Gutenberg invented the movable-type printing press. And his very first major project? The Bible. A literal, tangible way to spread God’s Word, marking a moment that changed history and spread faith.

This Week’s Scripture:

Psalm 133:1 (NIV) — “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

Lord, thank You for the small moments that teach us big truths. Help us walk with integrity in the little things and remind us that we don’t have to do life alone. Whether we’re tangled in frustration or learning something new, give us patience, wisdom, and the courage to ask for help when we need it. Bless each person reading this with peace and clarity this week. Strengthen each person reading this today. May their week be filled with peace, connection, and quiet encouragement.
